NVIDIA shares swung after the chipmaker posted record first-quarter revenue of $81.6 billion, fuelled by booming AI demand. The stock briefly fell before recovering as investors weighed whether results justified soaring valuations. Peter Takaendesa, CIO of Mergence Investment Managers ,said the figures were slightly ahead of sell-side expectations but largely matched fund managers’ forecasts. He added that AI-related demand and spending by major tech firms continue to support chipmakers, although the sector’s rapid growth will eventually slow.
